The TDs there are hard to reveal and can cover the entire right side of the map. I’d also argue that because of the terrain, this side of the map has a much better option of going valley due to the high hill rises at the valley spawn (which are seemingly always spawn-camped by TDs). But if you do go valley and red spawn-camp-snipes… you’ll die quickly as they have a far superior TD position.Įast Spawn (Red): This side also benefits from going to the hill because it gets hull-down positions and it also benefits from a few little quirks that if worked properly, can lead to substantial advantages. One down side is you leave your TDs out in the valley and if they don’t commit to coming rails, they will die quickly. I feel it is a better overall map position and from this side it has better defensive and positioning options. West Spawn (Green): From this side of the map, I always take the advantage of going to the hills and the rails. That said, you can definitely win going all valley too. High ground always seems like a better decision (because you can see further, unobstructed, meaning you can lay down more fire without having to move a lot), so I generally go the all hills route. Those are «All Hills and Rails» and «All Valley». I’d debate there are really two strong winning strategies, but like most maps, one seems to win more often. SYNOPSIS: Dead Rail is a very interesting map IMO because there are multiple «good tactics» that you can employ and your tanks spawn far apart, which is generally uncommon.
